Startup Ignition Bootcamp Expands to Los Angeles, Dallas, and Miami — 2026-2027 Dates Announced

Startup Ignition Bootcamp Expands to Los Angeles, Dallas, and Miami — 2026-2027 Dates Announced

Since 2015, Startup Ignition has trained over 1,000 founders and worked with nearly 1,000 separate ventures through its in-person startup bootcamp — predominantly along Utah’s Wasatch Front. The bootcamp has produced founders who’ve gone on to raise hundreds of millions in funding, reach billion-dollar valuations (like Pura), get accepted to top accelerators, and build durable companies generating real revenue.

Now we’re going national.

Starting late 2026, Startup Ignition Bootcamp is expanding to Los Angeles, Dallas, and Miami — three cities with booming startup ecosystems that lack a focused, validation-first founder program. Combined with our continued Utah cohorts, founders across the country now have access to the same 3-day intensive that’s produced hundreds of validated startups.

If you’ve been searching for a startup bootcamp near you — in LA, DFW, South Florida, or Utah — here’s what’s coming, why these cities, and how to apply.

What Is the Startup Ignition Bootcamp?

For founders who aren’t familiar: the Startup Ignition Bootcamp is a 3-day in-person intensive designed to take founders from idea to validated business model. It’s not a pitch competition. It’s not a networking event. It’s a working program where you:

  • Analyze your idea using the Big Idea Canvas and Wow! Factor Test — structured tools that predict whether your concept has real market potential
  • Build your Business Model Canvas — mapping revenue model, customer segments, channels, and cost structure as testable hypotheses
  • Learn customer discovery — the exact interview frameworks and question scripts that separate real demand from polite interest
  • Identify and test your riskiest assumptions — so you know what could kill your startup before you invest time and money
  • Get access to the Startup Ignition ToolSuite — 15 AI-powered validation tools, an AI startup mentor, and a founder community that continues long after the bootcamp ends
  • Connect to capital — founders who validate through the program are considered for pre-seed investment ($100K–$1M) from Startup Ignition Ventures

The bootcamp is taught by John Richards (200+ angel investments, including early checks into Omniture, Fusion-io, Ancestry, Skullcandy, and Lyft) and Tyler Richards (founded and exited DevMountain, named to Utah’s 2025 40 Under 40).

Tuition is $1,999 for the 3-day program. Every cohort is limited in size to ensure hands-on mentorship.

Startup Bootcamp in Los Angeles — January 20-22, 2027

Why Los Angeles

Los Angeles has quietly become one of the most important startup cities in America. The LA tech ecosystem generated over $15 billion in venture funding in recent years, driven by strengths in entertainment tech, consumer products, e-commerce, AI, and SaaS. Companies like Snap, SpaceX, Scopely, ServiceTitan, and Tala all call LA home.

But here’s the gap: Los Angeles has plenty of accelerators, coding bootcamps, and networking events — but almost no structured validation programs for early-stage founders. Most LA founders go straight from idea to building, skipping the validation step that separates the startups that survive from the 74% that fail due to premature scaling.

The existing options in LA are either coding bootcamps (Nucamp, General Assembly, 4Geeks — which teach technical skills, not startup strategy), county-run entrepreneurship academies (valuable but basic), or one-day workshops that barely scratch the surface. There’s nothing that combines structured validation methodology, AI-powered tools, and a direct path to venture capital in a 3-day intensive.

That’s what we’re bringing.

  • First-time founders with an idea they haven’t validated yet
  • Serial entrepreneurs exploring a new venture and want to pressure-test it before committing
  • Corporate professionals in LA’s entertainment, tech, or consumer products industry with a startup idea on the side
  • Founders who’ve been building for months without talking to customers — and know they need to course-correct
  • Anyone in Southern California who wants a structured process instead of guessing

Startup Bootcamp in Dallas — February 24-26, 2027

Why Dallas

The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is one of the fastest-growing tech hubs in America. With over 20 Fortune 500 companies headquartered in DFW, a deep talent pool from UT Dallas and SMU, and a cost of living roughly 40% lower than the Bay Area, Dallas has everything a startup needs — except a structured validation program.

The Dallas startup ecosystem has accelerators (Tech Wildcatters, Health Wildcatters, CometX at UT Dallas) and a growing venture scene, but these programs are multi-month commitments that take equity. There’s no short-form, validation-focused bootcamp for founders who want to test their idea in days, not months.

Dallas also sits at the intersection of several massive industries — enterprise software, fintech, healthcare, energy, and logistics — creating founder-market fit opportunities that don’t exist in coastal markets. Founders building B2B solutions for these industries have a structural advantage in DFW that they often don’t realize.

Dallas Bootcamp Details

  • Dates: February 24-26, 2027 (Wednesday-Friday)
  • Location: Dallas, Texas (venue TBD)
  • Tuition: $1,999
  • Format: 3-day in-person intensive
  • What’s included: Full bootcamp curriculum, ToolSuite access, AI mentor, founder community membership, ongoing support
  • Apply to the Dallas Bootcamp →

Who Should Apply (Dallas)

  • DFW-based founders building B2B software, SaaS, fintech, healthtech, or enterprise tools
  • Corporate intrapreneurs at Fortune 500 companies in Dallas looking to validate an internal venture or side project
  • Founders spinning out of UT Dallas, SMU, or TCU entrepreneurship programs who need real-world validation, not just academic theory
  • Texas-based founders who don’t want to relocate to Austin, the Bay Area, or NYC to access quality startup education
  • Anyone in the DFW area tired of pitch competitions and networking events that don’t actually help you build

Startup Bootcamp in Miami — November 16-18, 2026

Why Miami

Miami’s startup ecosystem has exploded since 2020. The city has attracted billions in venture capital, major tech relocations, and a wave of founder migration from New York and the Bay Area. Miami Tech Week has become one of the largest startup events in the country, and the city’s international connectivity makes it a natural hub for founders targeting Latin American and global markets.

But Miami’s ecosystem is still heavily event-driven — conferences, pitch nights, demo days, and networking happy hours. What’s missing is the structured, working program that turns a promising founder into a validated one. Miami has no shortage of hype. What it needs is methodology.

The Startup Ignition Bootcamp fills that gap. Three days of hands-on validation work — not presentations, not panels, not cocktail hours. Real frameworks, real customer discovery, real business model building.

Miami Bootcamp Details

  • Dates: November 16-18, 2026 (Monday-Wednesday)
  • Location: Miami, Florida (venue TBD)
  • Tuition: $1,999
  • Format: 3-day in-person intensive
  • What’s included: Full bootcamp curriculum, ToolSuite access, AI mentor, founder community membership, ongoing support
  • Apply to the Miami Bootcamp →

Who Should Apply (Miami)

  • South Florida founders building tech startups and looking for structured validation before raising
  • Founders targeting Latin American or Caribbean markets who want to validate before expanding
  • Professionals relocating to Miami’s growing tech scene who want to connect with a national founder network
  • University of Miami, FIU, or FAU students and alumni with startup ideas
  • Anyone in the Miami startup community who’s been to every pitch night but never validated their idea with real customers

Utah Bootcamps Continue — Provo Dates for 2026

We’re not leaving home. Utah remains our headquarters, and Provo cohorts continue on their regular schedule:

  • Provo 17: September 21-23, 2026 — Apply →
  • Provo 18: December 9-11, 2026 — Apply →

Utah founders have an additional advantage: proximity to the Startup Ignition Ventures team, the full bootcamp alumni network along the Wasatch Front, and the Silicon Slopes ecosystem. If you’re in Utah, these are your cohorts.

  1. Startup Bootcamp — 3-day in-person intensive. Validate your idea with proven frameworks.
  2. ToolSuite — 15 AI-powered tools for ongoing validation. Every bootcamp grad gets access.
  3. Startup Ignition Ventures — $20M pre-seed fund writing $100K–$1M first checks. Validated bootcamp founders are considered for investment.
  4. Founder Community — 1,000+ founders, regular events, content library, ongoing mentorship.
  5. Podcast — 55+ episodes with the founders behind billion-dollar exits, bootstrapped successes, and hard-won startup lessons.

This is what makes Startup Ignition different from every other bootcamp, accelerator, and workshop on the market: education, tools, community, and capital — all connected.

FAQ

How much does the Startup Ignition Bootcamp cost?

Tuition is $1,999 for the 3-day program in any city — Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, or Provo. This includes the full bootcamp curriculum, access to the Startup Ignition ToolSuite (15 AI-powered validation tools), the AI startup mentor, founder community membership, content library, and ongoing support after the program ends.

Do I need a startup idea to attend?

It helps to have at least the seed of an idea, but you don’t need a fully formed concept. Many founders arrive with a vague idea and leave with a validated (or invalidated) business model. The bootcamp is designed to work with wherever you are — from first spark to early traction.

Is the bootcamp the same in every city?

Yes. The curriculum, instructors, and tools are identical across all locations. The only difference is the city and the other founders in the room — which creates different networking opportunities depending on the local ecosystem.

Do I need to live in the city to attend?

No. Founders regularly travel to attend. The bootcamp is 3 days, so you’d need to be in the city for that window. Many founders combine it with a few extra days of networking in the local startup scene.

Can the bootcamp lead to investment from Startup Ignition Ventures?

Yes. Founders who validate through the bootcamp and demonstrate real traction are considered for pre-seed investment ($100K–$1M) from Startup Ignition Ventures. The validation data you generate during the program is exactly what our investment team evaluates. Several of our portfolio companies came directly through the bootcamp.

What’s the difference between the bootcamp and the ToolSuite?

The bootcamp is a 3-day in-person intensive with live instruction, group work, and direct mentorship. The ToolSuite is the AI-powered platform you use during and after the bootcamp to continue validation work on your own. Bootcamp graduates get full ToolSuite access — the two are designed to work together.

How do I apply?

Visit the cohort page for your city and click “Apply”: Los Angeles | Dallas | Miami | Provo. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Cohorts fill up — apply early.

What if I want to bring the bootcamp to my city?

We’re actively expanding. If you’re in a city that isn’t listed and want to bring Startup Ignition to your market — whether you’re a founder, a university, a co-working space, or a local startup organization — contact us.

Is there a startup bootcamp near me?

If you’re in Southern California, the Los Angeles cohort (January 2027) is your closest option. In Texas, the Dallas cohort runs February 2027. In South Florida, the Miami cohort is November 2026. In Utah, Provo cohorts run September and December 2026. We’re actively expanding to more cities — contact us if you’d like to bring the bootcamp to your area.

Is this a startup accelerator?

The bootcamp is not an accelerator — it’s a 3-day intensive education program. We don’t take equity, we don’t require relocation, and there’s no multi-month commitment. Think of it as a concentrated crash course in startup validation. For founders who want the full accelerator experience, the bootcamp + ToolSuite + Ventures ecosystem provides that — but on your own timeline. For a deeper comparison, see our guide on what a startup bootcamp actually is.
